I had just a bit of time for a ride Friday after work, so I stayed in the county. Still, I saw some sites and a good variety of dirt, gravel, farm roads, and oil and chip back roads. At one place there was a hay field on the west side of a gradual slope. Round hay bales spotted the view. There was young corn on the other side of the dirt farm road I was riding. From there, I couldn’t see anything other than the crops and the road. No buildings, no power lines, no towers, nothing. A pile of grain almost tripped me up like greasy marbles. Later, I was on an oil and chip road that was so hot, the oil seeped to the top as if it had just been sprayed and somebody forgot to put the chips on top.
